SOMERSET — ROBERTS – G. Thomas “Tom,” 70, Somerset and Adams County, died surrounded by his loved ones Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2013, at Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, Pa. Born June 14, 1942, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., son of Betty (Mathewson) Walters, Sarasota, Fla., and the late George A. Roberts, who died Feb. 15, 2013. He was the husband of Sandra Day Roberts of Somerset and Adams County, to whom he was married to for 37 years. Mr. Roberts was a practicing attorney, having served as a consultant for many firms until his death. He was a graduate with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy from Carnegie Mellon and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in law. He was an active member of Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pitt Alumni Association, ACLU and USGA and was a past member of Gettysburg Country Club and Seven Springs Club. He enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his pets, traveling and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife and mother, Tom is survived by his children, Sue Roberts, Biglerville, Pa.; Sally Showers, Aspers, Pa.; Amy Ebeling, Moorepark, Calif.; Andrew Roberts, Denver, Colo.; and Sharon Phillippi, Rockwood; daughters-in-law, Becky and Colleen; sons-in-law, Alan, Jan and Brian; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, William Roberts, and wife, Dianne, Sarasota, Fla.; sister, Mary Elphick, London, England; stepsister, Margaret Griffes, stepbrother-in-law, Rob See; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, Pa. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Gettysburg Hospital and Village of Laurel Run, Medic 28, Biglerville/Bendersville Ambulance staff and Life Lion flight crew.
