RICHMOND, TEXAS — WILLS – Sarah G. Evans, Richmond, Texas, formerly of Irwin, Portage and Ebensburg, passed away Feb. 26, 2013, in Sugar Land, Texas. Born April 18, 1928, in Portage. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel William and Jennie May Evans; husband, James Francis; son, Mark Allan; and daughter-in-law, June Elizabeth Leslie. Survived by sons, William James, Rosenberg, Texas; Donald Walter (Kathleen), South Fork; and Jeffrey Dale Wills (Jenny), Gallitzin; daughter, Anita Louise Carlson, (Harold “Hal” Eugene), Richmond, Texas; sisters, Betty June Bracken (Phillip), Linda Darlene Babish (Frank) and Alice Louise Evans; and brother, Harry Kenneth Evans, all of Portage.; grandchildren, Susan, Donald, Shawn, David, Robert, Carol Hudson, Lan Wilson, Samuel Carlson, Dylan Carlson, Sheridee Hartzog and Natalie Hollows; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as other loving family members and friends. Sarah was a farm girl and knew how to work hard. She was a great cook, baker and candy marker. Her life was never boring with five children, who were all strong willed. Her strong faith in Jesus Christ sustained her through many trials in her life. Widowed at 44, she pressed on and had a full life traveling all over the United States and Great Britain. Sarah moved to Texas with her daughter and family in 2000, leaving the cold and ice of Pennsylvania. She attended First Assembly of God, Rosenberg, and Pecan Grove Baptist Church, Richmond. She will be missed by all who knew her. Sarah requested, in lieu of flowers, monetary gifts be given to her family. Memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Pecan Grove Baptist Church, 1727 FM 359, Richmond, Texas. Memorial service will be held at a later date in Portage.
