STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP — BERKEBILE – William D. “Boog,” 59, Stonycreek Township, passed away Oct. 2, 2012, at his residence, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born Oct. 19, 1952, in Johnstown, son of the late Clare C. and Mary C. (Saylor) Berkebile. Survived by son, Ethan D. Berkebile, Johnstown; wife, Phyllis (Glover) Berkebile, Johnstown; sister, Janis I. Berkebile, Roanoke, Va.; and numerous friends. William was a 1970 graduate of Richland High School. He was self-employed as an auto repair man for most of his life. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his son, Ethan. William was always willing to help others in need. He will be remembered as a kind person who was always smiling. At William’s request, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, the Rev. Wayne D. Sedei, officiating.
