EAST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP — LYZINSKI – Pia, 92, East Taylor Township, passed away Aug. 5, 2012, at home. She was born Aug. 29, 1919 in Milan, Italy, daughter of Attilio and Nella (Preti) Montoni. Preceded in death by parents; great-grandson, Patrick Empfield; and a brother, Plinio. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John J. Lyzinski, East Taylor Township; children, David, married to the former Lydia Fadini, Moorestown, N.J.; Thomas, married to the former Joanne Zucco, Phoenix, Ariz.; Ruth, East Taylor Township; Daniel, married to the former Joan Bossenga, Herndon, Va.; and Jane, wife of Gary Empfield, Jeannette; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Glaucio, and wife, Wanda, Pistoia, Italy; and several nieces and nephews. Pia was a member of Church of the Transfiguration and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family, who loved her dearly. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall. Committal, Assumption Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Church of the Transfiguration, 220 Oak St., Johnstown, Pa. 15909, in memory of Pia. A special thank you to Windber Hospice and staff.
