STRONGSTOWN — YOUNKIN – Edward, 79, Strongstown RD, has gone to be with our Lord Nov. 18, 2012, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Jan. 22, 1933, in Nanty Glo, son of late Cyrus and Grace Younkin. Preceded in death by wife, Dolly M. Younkin; son, William R. Younkin; daughter, Rose M. Younkin; granddaughters, Jessica and Lindsey Oros; and great-granddaughter, Ayden Jane McKinley; also brothers, Ray, Park, Paul, Charles, George and Edwin. Survived by sons, Michael W. (Janice) Younkin, George J. (Debra) Younkin and Daniel E. Younkin; daughters, Christine L. Krieger and Susan G. (Tom) Oros; grandchildren, Tiffany, Heidi, Heather, Shannon, Nicole, Brandon, Ashley, Erica, Chelsea, Thomas, Ryan and Maria; and great-grandchildren, Sadie, Madison, Braydon, Jade, Ellie, Blake, Avery, Dane and Mason. Edward was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan during the Korean War, and was a retired steelworker of Bethlehem Steel. He was a skilled carpenter, mechanic, avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and a longtime member of Morning Star Ministries. Edward was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Medi Home Hospice. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morning Star Ministries, Lighthouse Church, 4886 Route 240 Highway, Cherry Tree, Pa. 15724, Pastors Ken and Wilda Brown, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Morning Star Ministries Missions. Arrangements by Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo. Military rites by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks and Vintondale area veterans group.
