Edward J. Wingard Sr.

JOHNSTOWN — WINGARD – Edward J. Sr., 78, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord July 18, 2012, at Arbutus Manor. Born Feb. 24, 1934, in Johnstown, son of Dorsey and Olive (Faint) Wingard. Preceded in death by parents and a sister, Elizabethann Boddiger. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois J. (Rudge) Wingard; daughter, Cynthia J., wife of William Cameron, Westmont; sons, Edward J. Jr., married to the former Patricia Mattern; and Timothy J. Sr., married to the former Theresa Murphy, all of Richland Township; grandchildren, Christy J. Cameron, Misty L. McGlone, Nicole J. Williams, Edward J. Wingard III, Timothy J. Wingard Jr. and Thomas W. and Eric J. Wingard; great-granddaughter, Leighton E. Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Edward was a 1952 graduate of Richland High School. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 39 years of service as a chainman in the Gautier Department and drove tour bus for Lodestar and McIlwain Bus Lines. Edward was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and working on his home with Lois. Edward loved his entire family especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and was a faithful blood donor at the Red Cross. At Edward’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private entombment will be held at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to Laurel Highlands Alzheimer’s Foundation, 317 Power St., Johnstown, Pa. 15906, in memory of Edward.
