NEW CASTLE, DEL. — STROZ – Frank J., 94, resident of New Castle and Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Jupiter, Fla., passed away Dec. 16, 2012, in Jupiter. Born Aug. 20, 1918, in Middle Taylor Township and raised in Johnstown, son of the late John and Magdalene (Sala) Stroz. Also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Walter and Blaine; sisters, Emily Curtis, Marie Smuro and Frances Bradian; and granddaughter, Katie Gardner. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Agnes; children, Michael Stroz, and his wife, Stephany Siwinski, Chicago, Ill.; Cynthia Gardner, Jupiter, Fla.; Dr. Margaret Stroz, and her husband, Dr. Paul Eberts, Chester; and Thomas Stroz, and his wife, Stephanie, Castle Rock, Colo.; his brother, Merle Stroz; sister, Jenny Meredith, Johnstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his 12 surviving grandchildren who knew him as Poppy: Victoria, Kimberly, Kelly, Caroline, Paul Andrew, Hannah, Theodore, Margaret, Abigail, Bradley, Ryan and Daniel. Frank served proudly in the U.S. Army 154th Airwaves Communications System during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the Pipefitter Union Local 74. He was also a religious man as he and his wife Agnes were 57-year members of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, New Castle, Del. Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. A viewing at the church preceded the Mass and interment followed at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, Del.
