JOHNSTOWN — FREIDHOFF – Francis H., 91, Johnstown, formerly of Vintondale, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Beacon Ridge, Indiana. Born Feb. 23, 1921, in Cassandra, son of the late Henry J. Freidhoff and Anna Moyer Altimus. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as maintenance supervisor for Hiram G. Andrews Rehabilitation Center, Johnstown. Member of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bolivar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Rose Ontko Freidhoff, in 1987; and brother, Perry J. “Judd” Altimus. Survived by stepdaughter, Margaret Cygnarowicz, Pittsburgh; stepson, Henry J. Anna, Grove City; sisters, Pearl Brett and Florence (Edward) Knapic, all of Robinson; Martha (Thomas) Smolka, Youngwood; and Mary Ann Dakis, Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Leo C. (Romayne) Altimus, Bolivar; four stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Inc., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. Robert M. Washko, celebrant.
