WESTMONT — MERVINE – Burnetta, 105, Westmont, formerly of Summerhill, died Jan. 12, 2013, at Laurelwood Care Center. Born March 3, 1907, in Summerhill, daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Long) Hoover. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Herschel Mervine; brothers, Clarus F. “Jim,” Wilbur, John and his twin sister, Josepha Gallardy; and sister, Blanche Wilburn. Survived by son, C. Richard Mervine, married to Claire Shipley, Danville, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Violette McCall, Cresson; and Doris Previte, Summerhill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burnetta was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill. She enjoyed her years living in Summerhill, spending time with her sisters, family and friends and was proud of her keen memory. In accordance with her wishes and in the hope that she may help others, Burnetta’s body was donated to Humanity Gifts Registry for anatomical study and research.
