SCALP LEVEL — GULA – Harry, 86, Scalp Level, went to be with the Lord Feb. 15, 2013. Born Nov. 25, 1926, in Ashtola, son of Peter and Helen (Stegel) Gula. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mary Fedorko; and brothers, John, Joseph, Peter and Michael Gula. Survived by wife of 60 years, Theresa (Kieta) Gula; these children: Carol, wife of Joel Penrod; Harry Gula, and wife, Nancy (Hildebrand); and Nadine Gula, all of Windber; grandchildren, Zachary; Michelle, wife of Dave Wargo; Jessie, wife of Frank Tallyen; and Andrew Gula; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn Wargo and Tyler Tallyen. Brother of Ann Seredick, Daniel Gula, Pauline Nadonley, Helen Havrilak and Marge Enoch. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Retired employee of Beth Energy Mine 33. Member of UMWA and Laborers Union, Windber American Legion, Deep Sea Fishing Club and the Argument Club. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing. Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, where Harry was a member of the Holy Name Society, Ushers Club and helped as a bartender at weddings and the festival and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Very Rev. Leonard E. Voytek, VF. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber, with graveside military honors by Windber VFW Ritual Team. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
