DEATER - Kenneth V., 87, 50- year plus resident of Belmont, passed away May 1, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 22, 1919, in Johnstown, son of late Covode and Mabel (McKinny) Deater. Preceded in death by wife, Lettie C. (Kemble), and sisters, Dorothy Giles, Betty Deater and Mary Ellen Clemenceau. Survived by son, Kenneth L. Sr., and wife, Rebecca, Johnstown; grandchildren, Kenneth L. Jr., and wife, Kate; Keirsten Deater- Deckard, and husband, Kirby; and Kirby Deater; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Elly Deater-Deckerd; and sister, Velma King, Johnstown. Member of Belmont United Methodist Church. Worked at 14- inch Gautier Mill with more than 37 years' service. World War II Army veteran, having served in Battle of the Bulge. Recipient of European Theater Medal, three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Enjoyed working in his yard. Also a history buff of World War II. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Merritt Edner. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Conemaugh Valley Detachment Marine Corps League.

DEWAR-CLARK - Dorinda Ann, 43, formerly of Westmont, died April 28, 2007. Born Dec. 13, 1963, in Pittsburgh, daughter of Jim and Patti Dewar. Preceded in death by grandparents. Survived by parents; husband, Robert M. Clark, Ph.D.; son, Oakes Dewar Salancy; and daughter, Khalen Dewar Clark; brother, Dr. James, married to Dr. Stephanie Dewar, of Ohio; sister, Laura, married to Dr. Kevin Cregan, of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Katie and Andy Dewar; Cory, Devin, Riley and Brianne Cregan; Jonathan, Jamie, Timothy, Stephanie, Krystyne, April and Ashley Clark; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar and Nancy Clark; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Amy Clark; Don and Terri Clark; Brenda Clark; aunts and uncles, Ed and Carole Trosch, Georgia and Ed Matthews, and Jack and Tootie Dewar. A 1981 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School with honors. Graduated "cum laude" from Williams College, where she excelled at varsity women's rugby. Attended Penn Dental and Wharton business schools. She supported her family through hard work and dedication. She was the customer service manager for Dewar's Car World and during her most recent career, she won various national awards for her managerial and sales accomplishments with numerous major pharmaceutical companies. Dorinda loved to ski, read, paint, horseback ride, vacation at the beach, play piano, and spend time with her family and friends. She also loved her home on Laurel Mountain and her Akita, Rambo. We will miss her beautiful smile, joyous laughter and giving spirit. She was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church, where family and friends will meet for a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dr. Larry Choittner, Dr. William Jackson and Dr. Douglas Stevens officiating. Friends received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Interment, Unity Cemetery, Plum Borough. EVANS - Alice Evelyn
EVANS - Alice Evelyn, 79, of Goodyear, Ariz., passed away April 30, 2007. She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of Raymond and Alice Mardis. Alice moved to Arizona in 1993 from Mechanicsburg. Alice had an outgoing personality. She loved to play cards, knit and crochet and had a passion for knick-knacks and decorating for holidays. She also loved trains. She is survived by her sisters, Rosemarie Shaub, Jacqueline Howard and Audrey Myers; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Estrella Mountain Church, 10485 S. Estrella Parkway, Goodyear, under the direction of Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel in Goodyear. A service also will be held at 1 p.m. June 9 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 700 Park Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Born June 4, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Rittle) Koscielny. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph Giles, who died Oct. 5, 2005; great-grandson, Travis Michael Rairigh, who died Nov. 19, 2004; sister, Ruth Tyranski; and brothers, Louis, Leonard, George and Donald Koscielny. Survived by daughter, Kathy, wife of Lynn Rairigh; granddaughter, Nicole, wife of Mark Bailey; grandson, Todd Rairigh; and great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Rairigh, all of Sheffield Lake. Sister of Henry Koscielny, Rose Marie Reilly and Marge Zyla, all of Michigan. Helen was a graduate of Chatsey High School, Detroit, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, South Fork. Survived by children, Clarence, and wife, Patricia (Sherman); Charles, and wife, Betty Sue (Compton); Bonnie, and husband, Paul Schmidt; Samuel, and wife, Kathleen (Hayostek); Donna Irons, and fiance, John Eckenrod; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Born May 17, 1917, in South Fork, daughter of William and Martha (Blankenbicker) Vivian. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilbur Dean, and wife, Mary Allen; William, and wife, Shirley; sister, Marian Burkardt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Virginia Smith. Survived by husband, William M. Lee; brother, Paul, married to the former Lorraine Crowell, Richland; and brother-in-law, Francis Burkardt, Richland; also 10 nieces and nephews and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews. Marg was an active lifelong member of Park View Alliance Church. A supervisor on the South Fork and Johnstown Selective Service board. Death ended marriage union of 55 years.
