GALLITZIN — BUTTERBAUGH – Susie R., 86, Gallitzin, died July 8, 2012, at Altoona Hospital. Born April 25, 1926, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Catherine (DiModica) Tornarelli. Preceded in death by her husband, Allen, on May 28, 1977; granddaughter, Clarissa Ball; brothers, Domenick, Nunzio and Alfred; sister, Matilda Short; and son-in-law, Butch Stoskey. Survived by her children, Allen (Linda Balestino), Altoona; Roxanne (Ardell) Ball, Ashville; and Mary Catherine Stoskey, Cresson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Amelia Boggs, Pitcarn; Joseph, Baltimore, Md.; Christine Finklestine, Gallitzin; Ronald, Baltimore, Md.; and Georgianna Shevenock, Gallitzin. Worked as a seamstress for Eaglewear and Publix Shirt Factory, Gallitzin, and retired in 1992. Also was a bartender for the Gallitzin American Legion for 15 years, member of the Gallitzin Lions and was past president in 2000, president of the Gallitzin American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in 2000, member of Sankertown VFW Ladies Auxiliary, St. Anthony Society, Altoona, and Senior Citizens. Member of St. Demetrius Parish, Gallitzin, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Wednesday.
