LILLY — STOSSEL – Julia T., 86, Lilly, died Feb. 26, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. Born Aug. 20, 1926, in Lilly, daughter of the late Francis and Sophia (Halupchak) Orehowsky. Preceded in death by husband, Rudolph Stossel, whom she married Sept. 6, 1946; sisters, Anna Walrow, Catherine Waschalk, Mary Zavada and Helen Wasil; brother, Michael F. Orehowsky; and infant granddaughter, Maria Bradley. Survived by children, Theresa, Brush Valley; Kathryn, wife of Gary Bradley, Cresson; David, Lilly; and Francis, married to former Yuko Okano, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Michael Bradley, Ebensburg; James Bradley, Cresson; Michael Griffith, Brush Valley; and Kai and Luke Stossel, Denver, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Henry and Max Bradley, Ebensburg, and Katie Bradley, Cresson; and brother, John Orehowsky, Lilly. Julie was an active member of her parish, Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly, where she was a member of the church choir, kitchen guild and “dustbusters.” She volunteered for the American Red Cross bloodmobile for over 30 years and was a founding member of Lilly Youth Organization. Julie was well-known for her crocheted handkerchiefs and fruit streudel. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, where vigil for the deceased will be held Thursday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Interment, church cemetery.
