LILLY — SUCHTA – Irene R. “Tootsie” (Gelletta), 87, Lilly, was called to her eternal rest Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Altoona Regional Health System. Born Oct. 15, 1925, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Molnar) Gelletta. Preceded in death by sisters, Anne Vinglas and Rosalie Litzinger Rager; brothers, Joseph “Yoke” Gelletta and Merle Gelletta; granddaughters, Amanda and Brittany Dunmyer; and many nieces and nephews. Tootsie was the loving wife of Joseph Suchta, whom she married May 17, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gallitzin. Beloved mom to Joanne, wife of Bill Dunmyer, Lilly; Theresa “Te,” wife of Dave Przybys, South Carolina; and Thomas “T.J.,” Lilly; and devoted gram to special granddaughter, Danielle Dunmyer. Beloved sister of Margaret Strasser, Gallitzin; John and (Shirley) Gelletta and Bob and (Fran) Gelletta, both of Michigan. Special sister-in-law of Belle Suchta, Altoona; and Steve and Mary Ann Suchta, Lilly. Aunt Tootsie will be sadly missed by many special nieces and nephews. She was employed for many years at Gallitzin Publix Shirt Factory. She enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, doing word finds, listening to polkas, preparing delicious meals for her family and most of all, spending time with her granddaughter, Danielle. Member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly. Relatives and friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, where vigil for the deceased will be held Friday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Chapel, Portage Street, Lilly, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Committal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly.
