JOHNSTOWN — KUCERA – Leonard, 78, Johnstown, died Feb. 4, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 26, 1933, in Johnstown, son of Andrew and Mary (Pilot) Kucera. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Theodore; and son-in-law, George Tvarozna. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anne “Rey” (Keifline) Kucera; daughters, Charlene, wife of Bob Blittersdorf, Kennett Square; Kathleen Tvarozna, Johnstown; and Raeleen Golby; grandchildren, Christy, Danny, Katie and Brendan; brother, Robert; sisters-in-law, Betty Keifline, Dorothy Keifline and Shirley Kucera; and son-in-law, James Golby, Johnstown. A graduate of Johnstown High School, he was formerly employed by Conemaugh Lumber Co. and retired as the superintendent of the maintenance department of the Greater Johnstown School District. A member of Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church, where he was an usher. Member of St. Ann’s Guild and the Elks. Leonard was an avid football fan and loved to have Super Bowl parties at his house. He was a Pitt Panther season ticket holder for many years, often traveling to away games. He loved to do woodworking and would oftentimes build items for his children and grandchildren; he even built his own home. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, dad and pap and will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church, Father Barry J. Baroni, officiating. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family. Condolences can be sent to the family at ozogfh.com.
