JOHNSTOWN —
FRIEBEN – William R., 91, Johnstown, passed away peacefully March 14, 2013, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born March 23, 1921, in Johnstown, son of Stephen and Mary (Suhey) Frieben. Preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Margaret B. (Kulback) Frieben; sister, June Nesmith; and son-in-law, Thomas Jackson. Survived by children, William, married to the former Lynn Mangus, Michigan; David, married to the former Deborah Kennedy, Johnstown; Thomas, Johnstown; and Joanne Jackson, Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard and Ronald Frieben. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with 42 years of service as a machinist and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. William was an avid sportsman who loved being in the woods hunting, gathering berries and picking mushrooms. Later in his life he enjoyed gardening. He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, 710 Broad St., Johnstown, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Father Bernard Karmanocky, OFM.
