BOSWELL — BRANT – Ray Chester, 91, Boswell, died March 15, 2013, at The Patriot, Somerset. Born Sept. 19, 1921, in Somerset, son of George Cessna Brant and Hattie Elizabeth (Berkley). Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Ellen Marie Clark, who died Nov. 17, 1996; three infant sons; grandson, Johnie R. Brant Jr.; brothers, Edward, Lloyd, Emerson, Richard, Earl, Ernest, Guy, Sammy, George, Jay and Billy Brant; and sisters, Margaret Fisher, Cleo Barclay and Mary Etta Brant. Survived by children, Judy Custer, and husband, Chuck, Hollsopple; Johnie R. Brant Sr., married to former Tammy Meyers, Somerset; Kenneth Brant, married to former Nila Sullivan, Somerset; and Barbara (Brant), and husband, Jesse; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Aultz, Listie. Ray was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked until his retirement as a custodian for JBJ High School. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Friends received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, the Rev. Michael Faidley, officiating.
