WINDBER — ECKLUND – Jetta F., 83, Windber, died March 10, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born March 7, 1930, in Beaverdale, daughter of the late Peter and Blanche (Stigers) Cook. Also preceded in death by husband, Robert O., and seven siblings. Survived by daughter, Gail, wife of Robert Oyler, Jackson, N.J.; son, Rick L., married to the former Barbara Clark, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Jason Oyler, Danielle Tavarez, Erin Oyler, Connor and Kevin Ecklund; and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Wayne Cook, and wife, Edna Mae, South Fork; June, wife of Carlysle Beveridge, Florida; and Nancy Belinda, State College. Jetta was a 1948 graduate of Beaverdale High School. She worked in medical field for Dr. Stone in Windber for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and “memom” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A very active member of Rummel Church of the Brethren, where she served as Sunday school teacher, choir member and various other church activities since the 1950s. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where deacon’s service will be held in the evening, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rummel Church of the Brethren, Pastor Ruby Mader will officiate.
