JOHNSTOWN — BROWN – William H. Jr. “Billy,” 63, Johnstown, passed away suddenly Feb. 24, 2013, at home. Born May 15, 1949, son of the late William and Vernell (Glenn) Brown. Survived by daughter, Melissa; sister, Sandra “Honey Girl,” and husband, Moses Williams, Pensacola, Fla.; uncle, Stanley Rodriguez, Phoenix, Ariz.; lifelong friend, “Mickey” Muto; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Billy was a 1966 graduate of Johnstown High School and worked for many years at Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was especially proud of his judo skills he learned as a member of Johnstown YMCA Judo Club. He won many tournaments in the 1970’s and was a National Judo qualifier in tryouts for the Olympic team. He volunteered many long hours as an assistant wrestling coach for Johnstown junior and senior high schools. He enjoyed shooting pool and competed in many local tournaments. Billy enjoyed talking about and with his only nephew, James “JimJim” Williams, and was proud of how successful he became in life. He was a kind, thoughtful and loyal friend to everyone he knew. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, West End, the Rev. Julius Porcher, officating.
