A graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School, Gary earned his bachelor’s degree from California State College, a master’s degree from Temple University and his doctorate in counseling from the University of Maryland. Gary was instrumental in the creation of Student Services Inc. and Student Lodging Inc., organizations developed to enhance and enrich the student experience at Millersville University. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran who served during  the Korean War. He was actively involved in numerous community organizations including Boy Scouts of America, United Way of Lancaster County, Lancaster County Health and Welfare Organization, Family and Children’s Services of Lancaster County, and Leadership Lancaster.
