SIDMAN — SMITH – Ronald D., 70, Sidman, died Oct. 13, 2012, at home. Born March 20, 1942, son of William J. Smith and Catherine E. (Myers) Smith. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Phyllis Jean (Gennett) Smith, who died April 13, 1984; daughter, Karen; brother, William P. Smith; sister, Judith Ann Yeager; and beloved companion of 20 years, Nancy Tanzely. Survived by son, Deran, Powhatan, Va.; grandchildren, Blier Jay Smith, Prince George, Va., and Garrett Jones and Kaleen Jones, both of Florida; brothers, C. Richard, married to Florence Petrunak, St. Michael, and George B., married to Patricia O’Hara, Ebensburg; sisters, Mary Katherine Walters, Kissimmee, Fla., and Virginia, wife of Lynn Gurchik, New London, Conn.; Nancy Tanzely’s son, Joe Molnar, and his wife, Kathy, and their children; special nieces, Debbie Houghton and Diane Mayes; and special caregivers, Lynn Sambol and Andrea Corbett. Ronald was a heavy equipment operator for Local Union 66. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, and Dunlo Sportsmen and St. Michael Hunting and Fishing Clubs. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Charles F. Bodziak. Committal, Corpus Christi Cemetery, Dunlo.
