WINCHESTER, VA. — LAMER – Rothard E., 81, Winchester, Va., formerly of Johnstown, died Oct. 23, 2012, at Blue Ridge Hospice, Winchester. Born June 21, 1931, in Green Township, son of the late Howard and Goldie (Hagens) Lamer. Preceded in death by brothers, Clayton and James, and sisters, Edith and Alice. Survived by wife, the former Gladys V. Craine, Winchester; daughters, Diana Lamer, and Joyce, married to David Hoover, all of Winchester; grandchildren, Alysia Hoover-Thompson, and husband, Zach, Tennessee, and Justin, and wife, Sabrina, Front Royal, Va.; and these brothers and sisters: Raymond Lamer, Strongstown; Evelyn Marsh, Fairless Hills; Ruth Marsh, Tavares, Fla.; Linda Zahoras, Nicktown; and George Lamer, Clymer. Also survived by beloved family pet, Bailey. Rothard was a retired millwright from Bethlehem Steel Corp., a member of Lilly United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Lilly United Methodist Church, 620 Willow St., Lilly. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, Va. 22601.
