SOUTHMONT — HESKETH– Vernon D., “Sonny,” 82, Southmont, died Oct. 25, 2012, at home. Born Nov. 17, 1929, in Johnstown, son of the late Harrison and Alice (Bunton) Hesketh. Preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Survived by wife, the former Helen Wertz, Southmont; children, Donna Marie, married to Gary Cernetich, Johnstown; Linda, married to Lance Johnson, Ferndale; and Steven, Parma, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Mangus, Abby Miles, Stevie Manning, Tyler Johnson and Madison Johnson; and great-grandson, Alexander Manning. Also survived by brothers, Howard Hesketh, California, and David Hesketh, Brunswick, Ohio, and sisters, Jeanne, Mary Louise and Eleanor. Sonny was a truck driver for Penn Truck Aides, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the PNA, Harmonie Singing Society and the Elks. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service.
