JOHNSTOWN — SMITH – Thomas M. “Smitty,” 64, Johnstown, died Nov. 1, 2012, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, from a 3-1/2-year battle with bone cancer. Born May 25, 1948, in Altoona, son of the late Robert John and Madeline (Feathers) Smith. Survived by wife of 35 years, Anita M. (Miller); children, Andrea Christine, married to Scott Flowers, Harrisburg; and Bob, Indiana, Pa.; grandchildren, Aniston Paige and Ethan Hunter Flowers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Reformed Church, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and holding his annual chili fest. Member of Ferndale Sportsmen’s. He was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a 1978 graduate of Penn State. He retired after 29 years as a shop teacher at Ferndale Area High School, where he was a football and wrestling coach. He was an avid Penn State fan. There will be no funeral service; however, friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at John Henderson Co.
