Shirley was born and raised in Windber, a small coal mining town in western Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elsie (Wirick) Weyant.  In 1955, she moved to the Bridgeton, N.J. area when she was recruited to work at  Owens-Illinois Glass Co.  It was there she met and later married Frank Huston, who was from Uniontown, Pa. In the late 1970s, she returned to work at Marv’s Market, a deli located on Old Deerfield Pike and owned by her sister and brother-in-law, Tiny and Marv Fredrick. In 1986, she accepted a position at Cumberland Insurance Group, where worked until retiring in 2005. She loved spending time with her family and friends, who will always remember her for her kindness, patience and her gentle spirit. Shirley enjoyed country music, crossword puzzles, watching movies and dining out and visiting with friends. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Les Keys of Upper Deerfield; sister, Dorothy “Tiny” Fredrick, Clifton Heights, Pa., formerly of Bridgeton, N.J.; nephew, Marvin Fredrick, his wife, Cindy, and their daughter, Brianne, all of Hopewell Township; nephew, Brian Fredrick, his wife, Danielle, and their sons, Derek, Jacob and Justin, all of Clifton Heights, Pa.; and a host of nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Florida and Texas.  She also is survived by dear friends, Sally and Jim Williams and Maryann Williams, all of Upper Deerfield Township, and Annie Lehman, Windber.  In addition to her husband, who died in 1997, and her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Earl, Bob, Don and Denny Weyant, and sisters, Ruth Trysnicki, Mae Horner, June Valchine and Edna Perkosky. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley’s visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.
