JOHNSTOWN — KRENS – Frank Joseph II, 94, Theater Drive, Johnstown, formerly of Summerhill, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus, Oct. 13, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 14, 1918, in Johnstown, he was loved by many, and will be greatly missed, the son of Frank Joseph Krens and Anna Partsch Krens. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Olive (Betz) Krens, who died in 1971; brother, Robert Krens; sister, Anna Patterson; and many friends. Survived by wife, Martha A. (Stetz) Dudak-Krens, Johnstown; children, Jean Orlandi, Baltimore, Md.; William, married to Janet Smith, Purcellville, Va.; Frank III, married to Diane Rankin, Orlando, Fla.; Connie, wife of Donald Brawley, Carrolltown; Ron, married to Gayle Woods, Farmington, N.M.; Sally Fuller, San Jacinto, Calif.; Betty, wife of Brad Rudd, Salt Lake City, Utah; Charles, Johnstown; and Dessa, wife of Eric McAfee, Summerhill; stepchildren, Joyce, wife of Jim Tilley, Johnstown; Michael Dudak, married to Jettie Ashley, Spring Lake, N.C.; Elaine, wife of Nick Senuta, Huntersville, N.C.; and Michelle, wife of John Dupris, Littleton, Colo.; 29 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Frank’s family was always his first focus and he provided well over the years and through the world’s many changes. The world to which he was born became very different than the world he left. Frank and Olive built a productive dairy operation outside Summerhill, and he thoroughly enjoyed farming. In addition to farming, Frank taught himself mechanics, construction, electricity and other trades needed to run the farm. Hunting was his special hobby, and he especially enjoyed his hunting trips out west. He pioneered aviation in its early days in this area and owned his own airplane. He was always ready and able to help family, friends and neighbors. His beautiful voice, contagious smile and unforgettable blue eyes sparkled with life until his last breath. Frank was a member of Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, where he served as an usher. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, and viewing at Greater Johnstown Fellowship Church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Gary Tustin.
