Dorothy A. Lewis

JOHNSTOWN — LEWIS – Dorothy A., 89, Johnstown, died March 7, 2013, at home surrounded by the love and support of her family. Born Sept. 24, 1923, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles W. and Laura J. (Dobbins) Miller. Preceded in death by husband, Harry J. Lewis; son, Richard Lewis; grandson, Scott Lewis; and sister, Catherine Mowery. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, Robert Lewis; Cathy, married to Arnold Yoder; William A. Lewis and Sandy Lewis. Also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Donna Lewis. Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a cleaner at Greater Johnstown School District. She liked sports as long as they were shared with family. She loved music and was fondly known at Senior Life as “Grandma” and had the support from the caregivers, Renee and Jennifer. At the request of the family, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, Nancy Hoover, officiating. Inurnment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Grace Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
