ALUM BANK — CORLE – Mr. Curtis R., 63, Cider Press Road, Alum Bank, died at 2:14 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Corle was born in Johnstown on Thursday, May 1, 1947, son of the late Russell and Marie (Claycomb) Corle. On Sept. 6, 1997, he married Sarah G. “Sally” Callihan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Lisa D., wife of Todd Corle, Schellsburg; son, Curtis R. Corle Jr., husband of Tammy (Martin) Corle, Lovely; daughter, Amanda M., wife of Clayton Milliron, Osterburg; stepdaughter, Heather L. Sims, York; stepson, Kendryl C., husband of Jessica (Colledge) Sims, Alum Bank; stepson, Danyl J., husband of Beth (Schenker) Sims, Swedesboro, N.J.; brother, Kendall Corle, Imler; and nephew, Kenny Corle. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren. Curtis was a 1965 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a molder for U.S. Steel, Johnstown Works, and for Specialty Castings for 38 years. Curtis was a past president of the United Steel Workers of America 2632 in Johnstown. He was a member of Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. Curtis was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed both pursuits with his grandson, Brady. He enjoyed coaching softball and watching his nephew, Kenny, at his wrestling matches. A funeral service will be held at Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, the Rev. Alan Brumbaugh, officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
