JOHNSTOWN — HERKO – Violet Vuick, 93, Johnstown, formerly of Trafford, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Windber Medical Center, Windber. Violet was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Wall, daughter of the late Stanko “John” and Catherine “Kata” Jurich Vuick. Violet worked at Cambria Savings Bank, Johnstown, and was a receptionist for Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. She was a member of Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Johnstown. She had a kind and generous heart to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Tarbuck and Stella “Kikki” Vuick, and brothers, John, Mike, Miller and George Vuick. Violet is survived by her loving husband, Aleck Herko, and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Route 130), Trafford. (412) 372-3111. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Father D.C. Malich, officiating. Entombment and final prayers will follow at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum, Johnstown, with Father Frank Miloro. Pomen service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
