LIMA, OHIO — NAGY – Charlotte (Pelkey), 72, Lima, Ohio, passed away Nov. 18, 2012, at her residence, after a long bout with ALS. Born Feb. 11, 1940, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy (Crum) Pelkey. She was married 55 years to Joseph Nagy, formerly of Beaverdale, whom she married March 2, 1957. Survived by husband, Joseph; son, Joseph Jr. “Bud,” and wife, Cheryl; granddaughters, Cassandra “Sandy” and Kimberly “Kim”; and great-grandson, Collin Blatz. Also survived by daughter, Roberta Lee Farmer (Ronald); and grandson, Ronald Jr. Sister of Herbert, married to Kathy Pelkey, Salix; and Amelia Rae, married to Robert McMinn, Somerset. Also survived by uncle, Telford Pelkey, Johnstown. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in special education from Bowling Green University. She was a loved teacher at Allan East Emerson Elementary, Whitter South Junior High and retired from Lima Senior High School. She enjoyed her many trips home to the beautiful state of Pennsylvania and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed creating things with her hands. Service will be held at a later date. She loved the Lord and was a member of Westside United Methodist Church, and attended services at South Side Christian Church. The family would like to thank all those who cared for her, including the staff at Lima Memorial Hospital, Interim Healthcare, St. Rita’s Hospice and the nursing home where she spent a short time.
