Merle S. Mishler

HOLLSOPPLE — MISHLER – Merle S., 82, Hollsopple, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Laurel View Village. Born May 11, 1930, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, son of Walter S. and Myra V. (Yoder) Mishler. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Esther Naugle; and children, Mark, married to the former Helen Knepper; Dale, married to the former Erin McLaughlin; and Diane, married to Richard Miller. Also survived by grandchildren, Steven, married to Kate; Amy; Eden; Meredith; and Adeline; and great-granddaughter, Eva. Brother of Grace, married to Don Speigle; and brother-in-law, Lester, married to Sara Jane Naugle. Active member of St. David’s Lutheran Church. Merle was an auctioneer for 68 years and was the owner of Mishler Auctioneer Service. Member of Pennsylvania Auctioneer’s Association and Pennsylvania Farmer’s Association. He was a farmer for many years. Family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. David’s Lutheran Church Davidsville, Pastor N. Gregory Vandyke and Pastor Jeffery L. Bassett, officiating. Interment, Stahl Mennonite Cemetery. Those who wish, please make donations to St. David’s Lutheran Church or Laurel View Village. The family wishes to thank AseraCare Hospice for their loving care for Merle.
