STRONGSVILLE, OHIO — KICK – Veronica, 88, Strongsville, Ohio, formerly of Summerhill, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Hospice Service of Southwest General Health Center, Strongsville. Born Aug. 15, 1924, in Benscreek, daughter of Michael and Theresa (Hlavaty) Dzurenko. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward Kick, who died June 9, 1978; infant son, Thomas E. Kick; sisters, Mary Yingling, Ann Peters and Margaret Byler; brothers, John and Michael; and son-in-law, James Shandor. Survived by daughter, Judy Shandor, Strongsville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sharon) Shandor, Brunswick, Ohio; and U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Gregory (Jaime) Shandor, Abilene, Texas; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita (Art) Coleman, Tennessee; Theresa Shandor, Michigan; and Joanie (Charles) Plishka, New Germany; and brother, Frank (Joann), Ohio; also numerous nieces and nephews. Vern was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill, and their Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed her career as an Avon representative for more than 40 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by vigil for the deceased.
