AKRON, OHIO — HLIVKO – Rosemary F., 64, Akron, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, after a prolonged illness. Born in Johnstown to the late William J. and Helen J. Foltin. She was a licensed practical nurse and a volunteer at St. Hilary school for many years as a room mother and helped with hot lunches and banquets. Also a volunteer at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in admissions and development and the booster club. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, love of shopping and complete selflessness. She shared her smile and laughter with the world and made everyone who she met feel special. Even in her final days, she worried about the stray cat she took care of, sending birthday cards, almost everything besides herself. Every person she knew she put ahead of herself. There aren’t enough words to express the thanks she deserves. Survived by husband of 43 years, Thomas J. Hlivko; children, Michelle S., Jonathan T. (Jennifer) and Matthew J. (Kimberly); as well as her grandchildren, Alexis, Riley, Avery, Emmersen, Sophia and Dominic; sister, Catherine E. Marthouse, Munroe Falls, Ohio; and brothers, William Foltin, Germantown, Md.; and Robert Foltin, Pittsburgh. Rosemary was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ciriello and Carr Fairlawn Chapel, 39 S. Miller Road, Ohio, 44333. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Hilary Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the following in Rosemary’s name: St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, Summit County Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
