RICHLAND — GUYER – Ruth D., 95, Richland, died Dec. 6, 2012, at home. Born Jan. 29, 1917, in Johnstown, daughter of George Sr. and Rose (Stahr) Maier. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Guyer, who died Jan. 25, 2007; sisters, Laura Boyer, Rosella (Rosalia) Maier and Margaret Muha; brother, George Maier Jr.; brother-in-law, Irvin Boyer; and sister-in-law, Clara Maier. Survived by daughter, Patricia “Pat,” married to David Zimmerman; grandsons, Gregory Zimmerman, married to Katherine, and Dr. Brian Zimmerman, married to Ajita Reddy, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Gregory Jr., Justine, Kesin and Naya; niece, Marlene, married to Robert David; and close friends, Carl and Betty Snavley. Ruth worked at the Majestic Theater in downtown Johnstown, where she met Bob. She loved being an “at home” mom and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and was an extraordinary pie baker. She was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church. Friends received from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., where funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., the Rev. Michael VanDyke officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her memory to Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901.
