CRESSON — NAGLE – Roberta “Berte,” 89, Cresson, died Dec. 11, 2012, at her residence. Born Oct. 29, 1923, in Ashville, daughter of the late Ross and Mary (Connelly) Burgoon. Preceded in death by sisters, Eletha and Dorothy Lewis; and brothers, Ross and James. Survived by husband of 66 years, John “Red”; children, Jack (Rita), Gallitzin; Dennis, Cresson; and Nancy (George) Handte, Harmony; grandchildren, Jimmy (Janice) Nagle, Scott (Courtney) Handte, Denise (Tony) Manganello, Susan (Richard) Rabish and Christine Handte; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Brandon, Andrew, A.J. and Teagan; sister-in-law, Alma Burgoon, Ashville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her immediate family. Berte loved to play bingo, golf, playing cards and going shopping with her daughter and granddaughter. Member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Leo Arnone, celebrant. Committal, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where vigil service will be held Friday.
