SUN CITY, FLA. — KARCZEWSKI – Mary C. (Filimonov), 96, Sun City, Fla., formerly of Windber, passed away Jan. 17, 2013, in Florida. Born Jan. 7, 1917, in Jerome, daughter of Alexander and Kxenia (Kalanowski) Filimonov. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank J. Karczewski; and daughter, Mary Lou Martin. Survived by daughters, Joan J. Ford; Sylvia M. Maher; Judith A., wife of Thomas Booth; Frances L., wife of Johnny Shumaker; and Tana “Sandy,” wife of Bruce Barron; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City, Fla. Former member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church, Windber, and former member of the church Rosary Society. Friends received from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, followed by funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, the Very Rev. Leonard E. Voytek, VF. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber.
