JOHNSTOWN — MOFFAT – Luella (Sillaman), 97, Arbutus Park Manor, entered the kingdom of heaven Jan. 29, 2013. Born June 2, 1915, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James W. and Goldie (Jenkins) Sillaman of Bradenville. A graduate of Derry Township High School and Wooster College in Ohio. Former French teacher at Derry Township High School and Franklin High School. Preceded in death by brothers, Benton Sillaman and Chalmers Sillaman. Luella married the Rev. Arthur Moffat, who has since passed away, and who was a pastor in the United Methodist Church. Together they served 41 years in fulltime ministry, all of it in Western Pennsylvania. Their retirement years were spent in Ligonier and at the Arbutus retirement community. Survived by sons, Pastor Arthur Moffat Jr., pastor of Second Presbyterian Church, Johnstown, and his wife, Carol; and Pastor Robert Moffat, and wife, Linda; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Marian, wife of the late Kenneth Hunter, Arbutus Park in Johnstown; and brother, Dr. James W. Sillaman, Latrobe. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Arbutus Park Chapel, second floor. The family asks that no flowers or memorials be sent. Just praise God that Luella’s greatest desire in life is now fulfilled – that she is in heaven with Jesus Christ. Arrangements by William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber.
