GONTKOVIC – Josephine, 91, Johnstown, died Nov. 25, 2012, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Jan. 25, 1921, in Johnstown, daughter of George and Mary (Remak) Cernogorsky. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Julius J. Gontkovic Sr.; son-in-law, Charles Schuster Jr.; brothers, William, Michael, John, Joseph and Stephen; sisters, Mary Miske, Anne Cikatris, Peggy Valenti, Irene Sullivan, Elizabeth Zerilli and Magdalene Horn; and stepbrothers, Aloysius, Joseph and Paul Gontkovic. Survived by children, Beverly, married to Michael Lovrich, Johnstown, and Julius J. “Bud” Gontkovic Jr., married to the former Nancy Drosjack, Manassas, Va.; grandsons, Christopher and Brian Schuster and Jason and Adam Gontkovic; and great-granddaughters, Hailee Janidlo and Chloe Schuster. Sister of Elinor Trotz, Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews. Former employee of Kay Artley. Member of the former St. Stephen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Parish, the Rev. Alan Thomas. Committal, St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arbutus Park Manor in memory of Josephine Gontkovic. Condolences may be sent at ozogfh.com.
