WINDBER — KAWCHAK – John R., 61, Windber, died Dec. 10, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 2, 1951, in Johnstown, son of the late John and Ella (Lamb) Kawchak. Preceded in death by son, John; and sister, Anna Gindlesperger. Survived by wife, the former Karen Mihalko, Windber; daughter, Kristina, married to David Cardwell, Virginia Beach, Va.; and granddaughter, Cassidy Cardwell, Virginia Beach, Va. John was a self-employed coal miner and was a certified mine electrician and had his foreman’s papers. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service.
