Eileen M. Kochara

GALLITZIN — KOCHARA – Eileen M., 99, Gallitzin, died Feb. 26, 2013, at her home. Born Dec. 7, 1913, in Tunnelhill, daughter of the late George and Marie (Boland) Chirdon. Preceded in death by her husband, John on Feb. 2, 1983; son, Daniel “Dink”;  infant son, George; infant daughter, Eileen; grandchildren, John Sweet, Laura Maurer and Leslie Auberg; daughter-in-law, Ute Kochara; sisters, Jane Mac Rae and Kate Smith; and brothers, Paul, Cyril and Bill. Survived by children, Ann (Ed) Sweet, Canton, Ohio; Michael (Barb), Gallitzin; Marie Burns, Las Vegas, Nev.; Joseph, Cresson; Paul (Deb), Gallitzin; Jane (Dave) Maurer, Altoona; Kate (Frank) Vinglas, Gallitzin; Tom (Mercedes), Gallitzin; John, at home; Pat (Evelyn), Cresson; Jim (Isabell), Ebensburg; and Mark, at home; daughters-in-law, Lotte Kochara and Lee Ann Kochara, both of Gallitzin; 31 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Therese Farabaugh, Sunnyvale, Calif., and Marie Beard, Gettysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen enjoyed life and her flowers. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin,  where a vigil service will be held Thursday.
