JOHNSTOWN — CAMPBELL – David Ernest, 77, Johnstown, passed away Feb. 26, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Born Feb. 7, 1936, in Johnstown, son of the late William Lester and Mabel (Zimmerman) Campbell. Preceded in death by sisters, Margie Stillwagon, Rosalie Keiper and Gerry Davis; and brothers, William and Paul. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice Lee (Troxell) Campbell; son, Patrick, married to Terri (Legath), Saltsburg, Pa.; daughter, Jill, married to Derek Hodge, Greensboro, N.C.; grandsons, Kellen and Nolan Hodge; sister-in-law, Joanne Campbell; mother-in-law, Dorothy Troxell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Greater Johnstown High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 and again from 1961 to 1962. He worked at Penelec for 33 years in the electrical equipment department. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and was an avid dog lover. Former member of the St. Clair Tremont Trap & Field Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Marjorie Kiefer, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive Extension, Johnstown.
