JOHNSTOWN — MIHALICK – Berenice W., 89, Upper Yoder Township, died March 5, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born May 8, 1923, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Paul V. and Berenice (Smith) Weismiller. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. Peter John Mihalick; and brothers, John Paul and George Nelson Weismiller. Survived by children, Jane Mihalick-Hamilton, and husband, Edward Hamilton, Philadelphia; Alia (Mary) Michaels, Santa Fe, N.M.; Paula M. Mihalick, Tucson, Ariz.; Dr. Anne L. Mihalick, Columbia, Md.; and Peter John Mihalick II, and wife, Karen (Golobish), Akron, Ohio; grandsons, Peter John Mihalick III, and wife, Lauren (Eusanio), Maryland; and Phillip E. Hamilton, and wife, Michelle (Brown), St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Max Hamilton and Kendall Hutchison, St. Louis, Mo.; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Kolesko) Weismiller; and cousin, Joan (Miltenberger) Leventry; as well as all her extended family and friends. Bernice was a 1941 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. She was one of the founders of Friends of the Library and was its longtime treasurer. In 1954, she was president of Cambria Country Medical Society ladies auxiliary and was a past president of Johnstown Garden Club. She also served as treasurer of Ferndale Historical Society. Member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, the Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
