JOHNSTOWN — AKERS – Ronald Gene, 79, Johnstown, died March 5, 2013, at his home. Born May 31, 1933, in Everett, son of the late Merle and Blanche (Foor) Akers. Preceded in death by sister, Joanne Akers. Survived by siblings, Merle Akers, and wife, Jean, Johnstown; Bernice Gay, Johnstown; Avanell Gallagher, Johnstown; and Shirley Foreback, and husband, Louis, Jerome; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired manager of National Cash Register. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Alice Tondora, officiating. Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, is in charge of arrangements.
