Joseph Gordon Krug Jr.

KRUG – Joseph Gordon Maximillion Jr. “Gordo,” 25, Portage, died July 13, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 9, 1983, in Johnstown, son of Joseph Gordon Krug Sr. and Barbara Jean (Maloskey) Krug. Preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Robert John Krug. Survived by father, and mother and her companion, John Ickes; sister, Carrie Ann Krug, and fiance, Joshua Minick, Boswell; paternal grandmother, Lucy C. (Trexler) Krug; and maternal grandparents, Paul and Jean (Latoche) Maloskey. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A 2001 graduate of Portage Area High School, and he attended Pontifical College the Josephium for two years in Columbus, Ohio. He was employed by Imlers Poultry as a truck driver, but he planned to continue his religious career. Auditor for Portage Township. Former member of the Ushers Club, organist and choir director at Sacred Heart Church. He played in the Easter Risin Irish Band; enjoyed fishing, golf, music, playing poker with his buddies, gardening; and was always helping out his friends. He was very proud of his family and his Polish heritage, devoted to God, and he loved his church. Gordon met the Pope and kissed his ring. If you were fortunate enough to know Gordy (which you probably were), he always brought a smile to your face. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage, where the Ushers Club will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Mountain Avenue, Father Ronald V.
