Mary Kuzmiak

KUZMIAK – Mary, 94, Richland Township, passed away Nov. 20, 2009, at home. Born Sept. 22, 1915, in Johnstown, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Grofik) Kormanik. Preceded in death by her parents; infant twin brothers; infant sister; sister, Anna Gatalo; and brothers, Stephen, John and Nicholas. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years,  John J. Kuzmiak; daughters, Rosemarie Tracy, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Carolmarie Pascua, Redondo Beach, Calif.; sons, John J. (Grace), Johnstown, and Charles T. (Brenda), Everett; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Helen Mastovich, Franklin Borough; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was a 1935 graduate of Franklin High School. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years in both Franklin Borough and Richland Township. Mary retired from the catalog department of Sears. She was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, East Conemaugh Borough. Mary was still cooking and baking until the age of 90. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, where Parastas will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. A short prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, the Rev. Msgr. Raymond Balta. Committal, Holy Trinity Cemetery.
