BRUBAKER – Edward C., 90, Windber, died March 12, 2010, at Meadowview Nursing Care Center, Berlin. Born Dec. 28, 1919, in Cresson, son of the late Harry and Lillian (Chirdon) Brubaker. Also preceded in death by brothers, Percy and Melvin, and sisters, Vesta and Betty Naugle. Survived by wife of 62 years, the former Etta LaRue Stanton, and these children: Shirley, wife of Joseph Mesoros, Harrisburg; Carol, wife of Jean Michel Habets, Stevens City, Va.; Janice, wife of Jack Seese, Punxsutawney; and Dennis, married to the former Janice Houpt, Tomball, Texas. Also grandchildren, Amy Biondo Bonk, Boulder, Colo.; Wendy Saranam, Silver City, N.M.; Jared Habets, Bloomingdale, Ga.; Melissa Seese, Punxsutawney; Joshua Seese, DuBois; and Sarah, David and Brian Brubaker, all of Tomball, Texas; four great-grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews. Edward was a retiree of Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 36 years of service, and an Army veteran of World War II, serving four years in the European Theater. He also operated a small family farm for 34 years. He enjoyed small game hunting, vegetable gardening and sharing with friends and neighbors. At Ed’s request there will be no viewing or visitation, but a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice in Ed’s memory.
