In brief | Spanking new maternity ward welcomes first baby

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A 6-pound, 18-inch boy was the first arrival at a Pennsylvania hospital's new maternity ward.

Brysen James Moyer was born just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Williamsport Regional Medical Center's new Susquehanna Tower facility.

Danielle Moyer had arrived at the old location early Wednesday, about seven hours before it closed. She was transported along with a few other new moms to the spanking new ward and gave birth about 12 hours after it officially opened.

Brysen is Danielle Moyer's second baby. She told the Williamsport Sun-Gazette the new Birthplace ward is more comfortable than the old ward, where she gave birth to 2-year-old sister Adelynn.
