Chryst settling in after busy 2 months at Pitt

PITTSBURGH — New Pitt football coach Paul Chryst says he’s spent the first two months on the job getting to know his players while trying to chart a future for a program in need of some stability.

Chryst said Tuesday while he’s made it a point to meet each player individually, he knows trust can’t be built on a brief chat. Chryst is Pitt’s fourth coach in barely over a year, and understands the players are looking for someone they can put their faith in.

The Panthers are in the midst of a transition from the Big East to the ACC sometime between now and 2014. Chryst said next year’s schedule is still not set and seemed uncertain when or even if the school’s longtime rivalry with West Virginia will be renewed. The teams will not play each other next season for the first time since 1942.

Too much thinking. Not enough attacking.

What do you think of the Johnstown Tomahawks name for the city's North American Hockey League team?

I like it
I don’t like it
It’s OK since the Jets and Chiefs were not available
I don’t care, hockey in Johnstown does not matter to me.
