JOHNSTOWN —
Johnstown’s Geroy Simon has been “Chasing Milt” thorughout the Canadian Football League season.
With two games remaining for his British Columbia Lions, Simon is within 226 yards of Milt Stegall’s CFL all-time career receiving yardage record.
“Honestly, for me it seems like everybody is making more of a big deal about it than I am,” said Simon, a slot back who has 14,927 receiving yards in 208 career CFL games. “I’m just focusing in on winning football games.
“Starting out 0-5 this year wasn’t fun at all. For us to have a chance to win the West, and being on an eight-game winning streak until last week, my focus has been on winning games.”
British Columbia rebounded from those five straight losses in a big way.
The Lions are 9-7 and one game behind 10-6 Edmonton, the team BC hosts today.
