EBENSBURG – Taylor Ferguson’s 14 points led the Bobcats as they clawed past Central Cambria. Blairsville’s Andrew Iezzi scored 11 points in the victory.
The Red Devils’ Collin Russell tallied 11 points while Will Seymour dropped in 10.

Penns Manor 58 (OT)
EBENSBURG – The Huskies outscored Penns Manor 11-6 in the extra frame to capture the championship of the County Seat Tournament.
Ryan Lauer’s 21 points topped Bishop Carroll, which received 12 points from Brandon Martinazzi and another 10 from Scott Ranck.
Allan Tomayko’s 17 points led the Comets with Carl Tomayko scoring 14. Shawn Stewart pitched in 13 and Danny Ferens racked up 10.

Moshannon Valley 32
PATTON – A fast start from the Highlanders gave them the cushion they needed to dispose of visiting Moshannon Valley. Cambria Heights, which raced to a 48-9 halftime lead, was led by 19 points from Isaac Vescovi and 17 points from Nathan Bearer.
Joel Martin’s 11 points led the Black Knights.
Ligonier Valley Tournament Derry Area 56
Cambria County Christian 39
LIGONIER – Zack Wisneski’s 14 points led the Trojans to victory over Cambria County Christian at Ligonier Valley High School.
Derry Area pulled away from the Panthers in the fourth with a 21-12 advantage on the scoreboard.
Dom Williams’ 14 points topped Cambria County Christian.
Richland Tournament

Kyle Flick torched the Lions for 27 points as Richland held off visiting United. Luke Shertzer scored a dozen in the win.
Dave Patterson and Stefan Moreau each had 15 points for United, which received 12 more from Cody Trabert.
Richland will play Tussey Mountain in tonight’s championship game while United takes on Heritage Conference rival Homer-Center. The Titans scored a 76-55 win with Eric Husick scoring 31 points. Joseph Capitosti’s 14 points led the Wildcats.
Bishop Canevin Tournament Allderdice 56
Bishop McCort 51
GREENTREE - Ben Mickens scored a game-high 19 points to lead Taylor Allderdice to a victory over Bishop McCort, the first loss for the Crushers.
Gerald Baswell added 13 points for the Dragons (3-3), who also got 12 from Justin Dobbs.
Jordan Salvia (13) and Jerqual Wilson (11) topped the Crushers (4-1).

Ligonier Valley Tournament Portage 70
Greater Johnstown 10
LIGONIER – Portage raced out to a 21-4 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 60-point victory at the Ligonier Valley Tournament.
Olivia McCabe and Emily Chobany led the way for the Mustangs with 15 points apiece. Paisley Zatek added 10 in the lopsided win. Candice Ramus had five rebounds and four steals for the winners.
The Mustangs improved to 6-0. The Trojans slipped to 1-5.
Ligonier Valley 56 Southmoreland 12
LIGONIER – Kristen Gabelt scored 14 while Kyra Ludwig and Taylor Rudnik each had 11 points as the Rams drubbed Southmoreland.
Ligonier Valley held a 39-2 halftime edge over the Scotties.

The Rams trampled the Lions in the middle quarters, outscoring their guests 46-8 in the second and third quarters, on their way to victory.
Sarah Pfeil’s 22 points and 11 rebounds paced Richland, which received 13 points and seven steals from Katie Gehlmann along with 10 points and eight boards from Kaija Holtzman. Julie Snyder’s 11 points led the Lions.
Richland will face Homer-Center in this evening’s championship.
The Wildcats topped Tussey Mountain 47-37 with Katelin Skinner’s 20 points leading the way. The Titans, who face United at 2 p.m. today, were led by Morgan Lemin’s 13 points.

AAABA League will open after busy offseason
The AAABA League opens on Tuesday at Point Stadium with two new, but familiar managers, a new but familiar sponsor, an expanded interleague schedule and two new franchises committed to the 2013 season.
A lot of activity took place during the offseason, including the AAABA national committee’s vote to expand the age limit to 21 years old beginning in 2013. -

Richland's Lumley settles for pair of silver medals
Paige Lumley was on an emotional roller coaster and seeing silver on Saturday at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
The Richland senior had state record jumps twice during the triple jump competition, but ended up with a silver–medal leap of 40 feet,
1¾ inches.
Defending state champion, second-seeded junior Lanae Newsome of Brookville, won with a jump of 40-3½. -
Ridge’s Dull takes second with school-record time
Matt Dull finished his athletic career with his best on Saturday at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
The Chestnut Ridge senior ran a career-best time of 38.12 to finish second in the 300 hurdles final, also setting another school record. -
Hit batsman lifts Pirates over Cubs
Matt Hague was hit by a pitch from Rafael Dolis with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Pittsburgh Pirates sent the Chicago Cubs to their 11th straight loss with a 3-2 victory Saturday night.
Hague took a 96 mph fastball from Dolis (2-4) in the back near the shoulder blade, scoring Jose Tabata and eliciting an incredulous look to the sky by the Cubs reliever. -
